The Yalahas - Magical Garden Mirror Art

More Information:

2/09 - All tops below have been sold or are in a gallery.

2/8/09 - I now have 2 baby yalahas available.  See Photo Menu 19a

  • I'm happy to order glass for you.

  • Lines for the small and medium Yalahas are about 1.5 to 2.5 feet long. Any longer and they would tangle.

  • The large hubcap Yalahas can be 3 to 4 feet long and are the most dramatic in the garden!

  • They do appear to tinkle (help me with a better word!), which wasn't my intent, but is a subtle nice addition to their magic.

  • I'll be happy to custom create a Yalaha for you to compliment your garden flowers or home colors.

Sold

Medium $230

The top weights 4 pounds and can hold 8 to 16 lines depending on how thick you want the glass. Pro. 1 to 1.5 inches.

The base measures 8 1/4 inches across.

No: medium yalaha 23

Small - $140 - Sold

A solid 5 pounds of metal.  A pretty scroll design.  6.5 inches across.  Will hold about 6 to 8 lines, probably 1 inch wide due to size of top.

This one will be a little tricky.

A yellow bronze color.

No: medium yalaha 22

The base measures almost 9 inches across. Lines would be 1 to 1.5 inches thick.

No: medium yalaha 25

The large hubcap Yalahas hold 19 lines and are longer and quite magical.  You need the space vertically to hang them, as well as a strong branch.  I will try to weigh the one I'm working on to give you an idea of the weight.

The hubcap tops are just a means or tool to hang these great lines.  They are strong and will not rust. They are really meant to disappear.  All you see is the stained glass and mirror reflecting everywhere. Mine are 15 inches across.

For the large Yalahas, you need to plan on about 4 feet of hanging space.  So it needs to be high enough not to hit bushes below, or the heads of your loved ones!  You also would want to hang your yalahas in a spot that will get some light.
