Gallery 19d - #188 Title:
Yalaha
Sirius
- "The
Dog
Star"
|
| This yalaha is special
in that it was made with the intention of honoring our dogs.
Diane and I are both living with older dogs who are showing us how
to be better at being human. My dog Annie was diagnosed with
Cushing's Disease and is having idiopathic seizures at 14.
Bridgett is a senior citizen too and has trouble walking.
Sirius is the brightest star in all the universe....always there to
show us the way. Our dogs are a part of the bright stars in
both our families and they are showing us the way, how to be better
at being human, or maybe...... how to live life more like a dog.

True happiness is
found in simple, seemingly unremarkable things.

Wag,
wag, wag.... |

The vital function
that pets fulfill in this world hasn't been fully recognized. They
keep millions of us sane.

Love is deep empathy
with the other's "Beingness." You recognize
yourself, your essence, in the other. And so you can no
longer inflict suffering on the other.

There is a Christian term that basically
says when the going gets tough, God will carry you; just as we are carrying
our dogs through this final stage of life or journey. Quotes reprinted
from Eckhart Tolle's book Guardians of Being.
