This project in
retrospect came and went so fast that I didn't even get a chance to
add it to my Current Project menu! It was tough working day to
day in the summer heat. But it's done! So here is
just a montage of photos showing different elements of the
work. The raw base (hardi-board), the columns, Dave working on
the design.
After putting in so
many hours on the front columns, we decided to design the top and
bottom of the columns with larger pieces of tile and have the more
time consuming work just in the middle.
This is really Dave's baby, as he did most of the labor
and came up with the design.
While this project was underway, this
night blooming cersus appeared (the flower only lasts 1 day), and 3
baby wrens left the nest. The mommy fed her babies the whole time we
worked. We came inside for a 10 minute break and when we
returned they had flown the coop! Bet they couldn't wait to leave
that nest with all the commotion we caused around them! 7/25/06
